Objectives of the project
Goal
The goal of the
HEALTH for ALL in LA
Project is improving the quality of care provided to citizens,
especially in peripheral areas, by increasing the problem solution
capability of Family Care Teams, initially in the regions where
the demonstration takes place, and subsequently in whole territory
of the participating countries. The ultimate goal however is
extending the service to other Latin America countries wherever
local conditions allow to do so.
To achieve this goal,
during the lifecycle of the Demonstration Project, HEALTH for
ALL in LA will implement and operate eLearning services aimed
at the Continuous Professional Development of Family Care Teams
in three demonstration sites: Brazil (State of Bahia and Minas
Gerais), in Chile (Region of Santiago) and Bolivia (District
of Potosì). These eLearning services will be compatible
with the level of communication networks available in the field,
learner-centred and aim to be economically sustainable beyond
the end of the EU co-funding.
General
objectives
The CPD services envisaged
in HEALTH for ALL in LA are based on state-of-the-art though
affordable eLearning tools and intend to contribute to:
dissemination,
promotion and adoption of Best
Practices among Family Care Teams;
dissemination
and adoption of Evidence Based
Guidelines;
enhanced
training of Family Care Team staffs to tackle
the social and psychological problems of
their patients;
improvement
of the doctor-patient relationship;
creation
of effective communication networks

better
integration of Family
Care Teams in the local community and in the local health
system.
All this is bound to improve
the effectiveness and the efficiency of the health care delivery
system and in turn the quality of life of the resident populations
which is the ultimate goal of the Project.
